THE RACE TO GRADUATION LIGHT GAME

Lutron Lighting Competition Spring 2022

Aim:

During the Spring of 2022, my teammate Bec and I entered the Lighting Competition sponsored by Lutron. Our task was extremely open ended as we created anything that has to do with light. After going to the introductory meeting and learning more about colors and lights, Bec and I set into action. 

Brainstorming process:

We came up with a multitude of ideas focusing on what we thought would “wow” the judges the most. We decided to make an interactive game as we figured other teams would be doing more of an art piece type project. 

Assembly:

We found the components of our project we needed in our school’s Tinker lab. I programmed both of the Arduino boards we had using C++ and found buttons and LEDs in our school’s Tinker lab. We then used scraps of materials from the school lab and cut to size using a Band Saw. Bec then assembled our case and decorated the front with classes that typical Engineers take at BU, thus resembling the path to graduation.
